Submitting an invalid referral may result in delays.
No assessment requests can be accepted without a medical referral.
What is a valid medical referral?
For a patient to receive an assessment from one of our psychiatrists, and for the service to be covered by the RAMQ, a referring physician must provide a medical referral requesting an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessment.
This document must be addressed to psychiatry or not specify any particular recipient.
A medical referral addressed to psychology, neuropsychology, or any discipline other than psychiatry is NOT VALID.
If another clinic is listed as the recipient, the referral is NOT VALID.
